As Director of Ascendent Sales and Marketing at RIM, Theron Dodson is
responsible for growing demand for the Ascendent Voice Mobility Suite by
increasing sales and driving the overall marketing and business
development strategy for the product line. Prior to the RIM acquisition,
Dodson served as Vice President at Ascendent Systems and was
instrumental in positioning Ascendent as a leader in the voice mobility
space.
Dodson's previous experience includes positions at technology and
financial firms. At Egenera, Dodson held marketing and sales roles as
the Company developed from a startup into an established company
servicing firms including Goldman Sachs, Credit Suisse First Boston,
JPMorgan Chase, and America Online. Dodson also held multiple roles
managing enterprise technology at Capital One Financial as an analyst,
development manager, and aide to the Chief Information Officer. Working
with the CIO on a daily basis gave him an insider's view on how
technology is adopted and justified in the enterprise.
Dodson earned a B.S. in Industrial Engineering with highest honors from
the University of Wisconsin where he was also recognized as a National
Merit Scholar. He also earned an MBA at MIT, concentrating in high tech
marketing and strategy, and new product development.
